Carbon fibre straps bonded to a bowed block foundation wall to stop further movement
Is this you?

Signs you need structural reinforcement

  • Horizontal or stair-step cracks in block walls
  • Wall bowing or leaning inward
  • Doors and windows sticking on one side of the house
  • A previous repair that's opening up again
How we fix it

What actually happens

  1. 01

    Measure the movement

We check deflection, cause and whether it's still moving. Some walls need monitoring, some need action now.

  2. 02

    Engineered fix

Carbon fibre straps, steel beams, wall anchors or a rebuild, matched to the wall and the load.

  3. 03

    Address the cause

Usually water and soil pressure. We fix the drainage so the wall isn't fighting the same forces again.

What it costs

Priced in writing, after we've seen it.

What moves the price

  • Length of wall and severity of bowing
  • Method: carbon fibre, steel or rebuild
  • Whether drainage or waterproofing is needed too

How we quote

Carbon fibre is the most affordable fix and works when the wall has stopped moving. Steel and anchors cost more and do more. The quote spells out which one you need and why.

Why AVH

Questions

Asked about structural reinforcement

Is my wall going to collapse?
Sudden collapse is rare, but bowing gets worse and more expensive every year. Past about 2 inches out of plumb, don't wait.
Carbon fibre or steel?
Carbon fibre for walls with moderate bowing that have stopped moving. Steel or anchors when the wall needs to be held back hard or is still moving.
Do you need to excavate?
Not always. Carbon fibre and steel go in from inside. Anchors and rebuilds need outside access.

Cracks don't fix themselves. Let's look before it costs more.
