Foundation repair in Milton.
Milton has more than quadrupled since 2001, but Old Milton still has homes from the 1800s. We repair and build foundations under both, from Timberlea to Hawthorne Village and the Boyne Survey.

A fast-growing town with an old heart.
Milton went from 31,471 people in 2001 to 132,979 in 2021, and for the decade after 2001 it was considered the fastest-growing municipality in Canada. Most of that growth came in big new neighbourhoods, starting with Hawthorne Village, established in 1999, then Beaty and the rest of the Bristol and Sherwood surveys, and now the Boyne Survey.
Old Milton is a different story. It was built mainly between 1850 and 1890 around the mill pond on Sixteen Mile Creek, and neighbourhoods like Dorset Park, Timberlea and Bronte Meadows followed from the 1970s into the mid-1980s. The oldest homes bring stone or rubble foundations and low basements, the 1970s and 1980s homes bring block walls that crack and bow, and the newest bring settlement cracks and owners wanting a walkout or addition.
Milton sits right against the Niagara Escarpment, with Sixteen Mile Creek cutting a deep valley through town. Sloped lots near the escarpment and the creek make good walkouts but need careful shoring, grading and drainage. The Town asks for grading plans showing the top of the foundation wall and the underside of the footing, and engineered design for any structural elements beyond standard house construction, so we plan for that from the start.
What we see most in Milton
- Settlement cracks in homes built since 2000
- Garage and porch footings sinking or pulling away
- Cracked and bowing block walls in 1970s and 1980s homes
- Low, damp basements in Old Milton
- Escarpment and creek-side lots that suit a walkout
- Additions that need their own foundation
